A native of the Washington, D.C. area, Sandra has worked for NADA since 2003, and is returning after a few seasons off. She has been involved in the ballet world for fifty years and received her early and formative ballet training under the world-renowned Hortensia Fonseca at the Maryland Youth Ballet in Bethesda, MD. After training, on full scholarship with The Joffrey Ballet in New York, Sandra then attended the well-known Bush Davies Theatrical Academy where she completed all of her RAD and ISTD exams, receiving High Honors for each. She has appeared with the MYB, Feet First Jazz Company, Bush Davies Company, Joffrey Ballet, The New York City Ballet and with members of the Royal Ballet at the Royal Albert Hall, in London, in a special performance for Queen Elizabeth to celebrate her Silver Jubilee. Sandra also is trained in jazz, character, modern, tap, voice and drama. She became deeply interested in pointe work --especially when young girls should start-- and has developed a reputation within the ballet world for this passion. She has been interviewed, and assisted in writing about early pointe work, in both Dance and Pointe Magazine. By day, Sandra is a Small Business Banker, the mother of three young adult children and is very involved with her church in the drama ministry, choir, and as a worship leader.
