Michael Garrison

Michael is a native of Atlanta. In 1975 He began his training with Fiona Farrie. In 1976 he began training with the Ruth Mitchell Studio in Buckhead. In 1977 Michael entered the North Carolina school of the Arts in Winston Salem.

Mr. Garrison has been teaching for thirty years. He is a master teacher in ballet and modern dance. From 1985 until 1991 he taught for the Rotaru Ballet School. During this time he also conducted company classes. In 1991 he embarked on a successful freelance career. In 1997 he founded the North Atlanta Dance Academy in partnership with his wife Kitty.  In 1998 they founded North Atlanta Dance Theatre. 

Mr. Garrison focuses on the Vaganova Method. His teaching style is well suited for students who are attuned to fast paced learning. Mr. Garrison's ability to comprehensively break down technical elements while getting young students moving quickly instills in them a love of dance as well as sound technique.
