Jennifer Smiles Plumley

Jennifer is a teacher, choreographer, actor, singer, and dancer originally from Huntsville, AL. She has been teaching dance and musical theatre for over 16 years, and she holds a B.A. in Theatre from The University of Alabama.

As a choreographer and dancer, Jennifer’s work has been presented in various productions in New York, Hawaii, Atlanta, Texas, Connecticut, Colorado and Alabama.  Her training includes Steps, Broadway Dance Center and New Dance Group under many dance greats, such as Frank Hatchett, Stephen Harding and Brenda Bufalino. 

As an actor, she was last seen in Aurora Theatre’s production of Clyde ‘N Bonnie, directed by Emmy-award winner Lonny Price.  A frequent performer and Assistant Choreographer with Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Jennifer has recently been seen as Miss Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Anytime Annie in 42nd Street, in The Will Rogers Follies, in Cabaret and as Sister Mary Amnesia in Nunsense. 

She will be playing the role of Erma in the upcoming production of Anything Goes, opening Sept 21.  Other Atlanta credits include Singin’ in the Rain at Aurora Theatre, The Game of Love and Chance at The Alliance Theatre and 1940s Radio Hour at Theatre in the Square.   Favorite credits also include Lucy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Gallery Players, NYC), Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie (Galveston Island Musicals), Sweet Charity and West Side Story (Connecticut Repertory Theatre), Ferdinand the Bull (Theatreworks USA, written by Lopez and Marx of Avenue Q), Mungojerrie in Cats and Columbia in Rocky Horror Show.
